Library Friends Respond To Concerns (Contributed)

THE meeting we set up on July 11, was set up as a public meeting. We encouraged the public?s participation through announcements beforehand in the Thame Gazette, on Thame Town Hall?s weekly website, and by poster outside the existing Thame Library.
We respectfully wish to point out the following:

Mr Goodall, owner of the Pied Pedaller business and the toy shop site in North street, put the property on the market eight years ago. At that time he transferred the business to Bicester Village, leaving the North Street premises empty. Oxfordshire County Council purchased the property from Mr Goodall. He then approached County with a view to moving the Pied Pedaller back into the North Street site, and a lease was negotiated.

Since then the Pied Pedaller has been mentioned as a site for the Thame Library on numerous occasions, for example at annual town meetings of the Council; such mentions have been reported on several occasions by the Thame Gazette. (ED. and ThameNews.Net)

The Friends of Thame Library will continue to announce publicly any further such meetings they may be involved in organising.

John Ansell, Deputy Chairman
