THAME Fair was in the town on Thursday (18/9), Friday (19/9) and Saturday (20/9) and there was no trouble reported to the police or arrests made within the fair throughout the duration.
Sgt Chris Hazell said: “The neighbourhood policing team for Thame actively patrolled the fair to ensure that there was no disorder and the fair was fun for everyone.
“We had officers at the entrances to the fair searching people on their way in and from this we made three arrests, one on each night, for minor public order offences.
“There was no trouble at the event this year which is very pleasing. The policing operation went very well and I have to say that there was a great atmosphere in Thame throughout the weekend.”

For the first time this year, Thame Town Council was responsible for health and safety at the fair and had to find extra money for more staff time, security and stewarding.
A public consultation was carried out last year to see how many residents would like the fair moved to an out-of-town site. The vast majority said that they would like it to remain in the town centre. However, new noise guidelines came into force this year and a proviso that the fair finish by 11pm.
