    THE SHOW

Nothing could prepare Fancy Day for the small village of Mellstock. Young, beautiful and educated she soon catches the eye of the honest, hard working Dick Dewy who is struck by love at first sight. But all is not simple for Fancy when she receives offers from Reverend Maybold who can show her the world and Farmer Shiner who can offer wealth and stability. Torn between love, opportunity, and her father?s expectations Fancy has a hard decision to make.

Using live music, choral singing and physical theatre The Dorset Corset Theatre Company are set to thrill audiences across the south with Helen Davis? captivating adaptation of this Hardy classic. A real autumn treat.

    THE COMPANY

  • Rock The Pavilion with Mean Poppa Lean (Contributed)

THE regular Chinnor Rock nights, Rock the Pavilion, are back from the summer break this Friday, September 18, 2009, with the amazing Mean Poppa Lean (ex hedroom).

We are very pleased to welcome back Mean Poppa Lean all the way from Brighton, hot from their appearance at the Isle of Wight and V Festival recently, and about to embark on an Autumn tour which starts with a headlining slot at The Pavilion in Chinnor.

Mean Poppa Lean one of the most fun, funkiest bands you will ever see, so if you like funk then get yourselves down.

“They are the best live band I have laid my eyes on in years, and will be playing every festival in the UK this year, I will make sure of that!” Mark Chadwick – The Levellers.

Support comes from Floors and Walls. “It?s a brave band who dare combine sovereign-ring wearing, Carling-downing English urbanism with such funky riffs and weighty grooves; a highly original collision of disparate styles which given time to mature, could be genuinely exciting. Irritatingly good fun. KKK!” – Kerrang! Magazine.

Three local bands supporting are We’re Not Mexican punk/pop, Louie Smooth & The Jazz Brigade, speaks for itself, and From Mondays Onwards, pop/rock.

    All this for a mere
