  • Invitation to join trip to Thame’s twin town

THE people of Thame and district have been invited to spend a very special weekend with their counterparts in Thame’s twin town, Montesson, near Paris.

There are still some places left on the coach which will leave Thame on Friday, September 13, and return on the evening of Sunday, September, 15.

That particular weekend is a very special one for Montesson, being the annual celebration of the fête du pâté à la Carmen, which culminates in a grand firework display on the Saturday evening.

The current Chair of the Thame & District Twinning Association, Jeannette Matelot Green, said: “As well as the festival, the Saturday always includes a trip to somewhere interesting and this year our hosts are hoping to take us to Chantilly chateau – which is fantastic!

“It has the most famous horse museum in the world – think Chantilly races and Longchamp handbags !! Chantilly itself is a very chic town too.”
